The digest: if you liked the Percy Jackson series then you will most likely enjoy Aru Shah and the End of Time - a retelling of Hindu mythology where 21st Century kids are reincarnated heroes destined to save the world once again.

Review: The Gospel of Loki – Joanne M. Harris
The digest: As beautiful as the cover art is, I’m afraid to say that this book is average at best. I can’t recommend it to anyone even vaguely already familiar with Norse mythology, and there are better starting points for those with no pre-existing knowledge.
BC: Mid-December 2018 TBR Update
I thought I would drop by and give you all a bit of an end-of-year TBR update since I think a few of you might be interested in what else I am planning to read by the end of 2018.
Review: Strange the Dreamer – Laini Taylor
The digest: this book is popular for a reason. Taylor tells a truly intriguing story whilst avoiding overuse of the standard YA tropes. It's not perfect but it is definitely worth a look for anyone after a YA novel with strong worldbuilding.
Review: This Savage Song – Victoria Schwab
The digest: This Savage Song, unfortunately, is nowhere near as entertaining or high quality as Schwab's other books. It is let down by its generic plot, poor pacing, and cringey dialogue.
Review: City of Ghosts – Victoria Schwab
The digest: a fun little children’s story which would appeal to readers looking for a break from more serious narratives without losing all sense of mystery and danger. Not great but not awful.
